2 Chronicles 32:26, “Then Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.”

The just judgment of God was looming over the nation of Judah. They were an ungrateful people, they were a sinful people, rooted in the fact that they were a prideful people (2 Chronicles 32:24-25). 

When the king of Israel humbled himself for the pride of his heart, (as we read in our text), the citizens of Jerusalem followed, and the wrath of the Lord did not come in those days.

My prayer is that our nation would do the same. There’s absolutely no doubt that the just judgment of God is looming over our land because of our prideful disobedience. Will we humble ourselves? Pray for our leaders, our president, his cabinet, congress, governors, mayors, city council, the people of America (1 Timothy 2:1-3). If only they would humble themselves before God…if only I would, and you, maybe we can be like Hezekiah who impacted the nation!
