Psalm 69:32 The humble shall see this and be glad; and you who seek God, your hearts shall live.
What is it that the humble shall see that will make them glad? Why shall those who seek God have hearts that will live?
They will see that which has allowed a heart, that of David, to be humbled. If we would take a moment and read this Psalm from verse 1 we find out that his state of affairs are compared with standing in mud and muck up to his proverbial neck. There was so much physical and spiritual despair, that all he could do was look for God.
A humbled heart is one that looks up, because of the realization that without our Father in heaven, we are doomed. David comes to the realization that God is more pleased by heart felt worship than empty rituals and religion. As he sought God from a broken, contrite heart he found life and hope, as we all shall in following Christ Jesus. We shall live!
Psalm 61:1-2, “Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
