Proverbs 22:4 (NKJV) “By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life.”

The Bible is God’s Word to us, it’s truth in the land of lies. The world is trying to convince you that pride is good – but it’s not. The culture is trying to teach us that humility is for the weak, for losers…but it’s not.

Here in Proverbs 22:4 we discover that humility is the key to true riches and honor and life.

Now, we need to be careful – the riches He speaks of are not necessarily financial riches, they’re spiritual riches (please see Luke 12:21; Ephesians 3:8; 1 Timothy 6:8; Hebrews 11:26; James 2:5; Revelation 2:9).

The proverbial wisdom also mentions honor and life. I’d much rather be honored by God than men, for that type of honor simply means I please the Lord, the One who made me and redeemed me.

Humility is one of the great keys to grant life, both now and forever more…simply because we’ve received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and crowned Him the shot-caller, not culture!
