2 Chronicles 34:27 (NKJV) “’Because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its
inhabitants, and you humbled yourself before Me, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you,’ says the Lord.”
One day, every person, even the staunchest atheist, will find themselves in a situation where they need God. The vehicle that will take us to God’s ear is, of course, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but the fuel that equips us to call on the name of Jesus is humility.
It’s interesting that God used a humble leader in King Josiah to deliver the message “fall or fail.” What does that mean? Well, Josiah found God’s Word, and his heart was convicted and broken when he discovered that the people would be judged unless they radically turned to God. In essence what he said was fall to your knees or fail in life.
This reminds me of what Jesus said in Matthew 21:44, “And whoever falls on this stone will be broken, but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.” The stone Jesus was referring to was Himself. We are to humble ourselves and allow Him to break us of pride, or risk being turned to powder.
Let us pray for our leaders to deliver this message to our land. God wants us to love Him tenderly!
